Formally trained and registered as a physical therapist in South Africa, I bring 15 years of hands-on experience gained from working in South Africa and the United Kingdom (Oxford).

PRENATAL MASSAGE

Focus on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes of pregnancy. It enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and relieves mental and physical fatigue.

POSTNATAL

POSTPARTUM JOURNEY

It is a privilege to treat, support and encourage mothers during a season of extreme change (emotionally and physically).Every postpartum journey is unique. Therefore each session is adapted to the mother’s specific needs. Depending on the case, benefits may include: stress relief and relaxation, relief of pain- or soreness associated with birth, improved breastfeeding ability, promotion of sleeping (for the mother) and return to exercise/sport.

TENSION RELEASE

REDUCE MUSCLE TENSION

Stress can be caused by a buildup of tension within muscles that restricts movement and increases pain. Tension is reduced by focussing on the deeper layers within soft tissuesStretching and spreading muscle fibres and tissues in order for muscles to relax and loosen. Loosened muscles increases movement, decreases pain and reduces stress. The positive physiological effects that most commonly occur, include increased endorphins and dopamine, decreased cortisol and increased tissue elasticity.

PERFORMANCE

PREPARE AND CONDITION

Adeep tissue massage to prepare the body for athletic activity and maintain it in optimal condition. Treatment  includes the application of a range of deep manipulative massage strokes, focusing on realigning muscle fibres and increasing nutrients and oxygen to the muscle. The benefits include increased range of motion, decreased lactic acid build up, decreased injury potential, increased circulation, maximised performance and increased cellular metabolism.
